Commdex Awarded Major Tactical Communications Contract from Oregon Air National Guard

Norcross, GA, October 8th, 2014 – Commdex, a leading wireless communications engineering firm, has been awarded a prime contract to provide the Oregon Air National Guard with a turnkey solution to enhance communications at Kingsley Field. This facility, located at Klamath Falls Municipal Airport, is the home base of the 173rd Fighter Wing, the organization responsible for training the best air-to-air combat pilots in the world. To maintain reliable communications between the area’s critical facilities, Commdex will deliver a turnkey microwave system, enhancing the communications capabilities of critical users, deployed with the capacity to thoroughly support future military and civilian operations. This contract further enables Commdex to effectively support major agencies in the defense community, a key element of the organization’s strategy to grow its federal business.

The complete and robust microwave system will be designed and installed to support Kingsley Field’s existing communications infrastructure, but will include several key technology advancements to significantly boost network resiliency and enhance the overall performance of the system. Under this contract, Commdex will perform a variety of microwave engineering services, including the design, staging, integration, testing, and implementation of the final microwave solution, which will be completed before the end of 2014. Commdex will execute a carefully crafted deployment plan in which the upgraded communications system will be constructed, configured, provisioned, and tested to the greatest extent prior to traffic cutover, assuring the maximum availability of the radio system, while avoiding significant downtime for critical users during the construction, transition and final cutover phases of the project.

According to Commdex President, Prince Niyyar, “We are proud to provide network engineering and technical expertise to the Oregon Air National Guard in support of its critical mission to develop a modernized, high-availability communications network at Kingsley Field. This is an exciting opportunity to further expand our presence within the DoD, and to demonstrate our ability to rapidly deploy the microwave networking solutions that ensure communications remain highly reliable, in support of our customer’s vital missions.”
